WHen you are finished reading, answer the following questions.
#1 Why is water important to the Northeast? #2 Why do people come to the Northeast? #3What is it like in the Northeast? Read Chapter 1 of the text Explore the Northeast. When you are finished, answer the following questions:

When you are done, take the "Hard Quiz" by clicking on the bottom right hand corner of the brainpop screen where it says, "Hard Quiz." If you have time left over, write 3 facts about the Statue of Liberty that you learned from the video onto the blog. You just read a book about William Penn. On page 16, the author mentions that William Penn and his wife, Hannah, were named honorary citizens of the United States.
Write a blog post explaining why you think the Penns were named honorary citizens of the United States. If you have extra time, read a bit about Winston Churchill, Raoul Wallenberg, and Mother Teresa. The othere people who received the honor of being honorary citizens. You just read a book about whales in New England. There are many different species of whales in our world's oceans. Click HERE to read about different species of whales.
When you are finished, choose one species to research further. Search for that species on the internet and try to figure out as much as possible about that species. When you are finished, write 3 interesting facts about that whale species on the blog. You are going to pretend that you are a commuter living in New York City. It is three days after Hurricane Sandy struck the East! After a couple of days off work, you finally had to go back to work. Write a diary entry about your journey to and from work. What obstacles did you face?
